Default Is my Pc worth upgrading to this graphics card

Have a problem with upgrading my computer, Not the best with hardware but My computer is the Del inspiron 531, I'm pretty sure these are the stats
http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/del...tag=mncol;psum

And was wondering is it worth spending €98 on http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku...ed#ProductTabs

As in will all the other parts be good for a nice few of the newer games and will it last a nice while?

As long as that does have a PCI-E x16 and the PSU to drive it. I think that GeForce 6150 was an onboard graphics solution, budget-end stuff. If the 4670 fits in there and gets enough power, it should be quite an improvement.

Bear in mind that that graphics card is worth more than the rest of the system...

If it's the slim model, keep in mind you will probably need a low profile graphics card.

The CPU and other parts should be decent enough for newer games, though the poorly optimized crap like crysis or gta4 will run bad no matter what your hardware.

As for if that 4670 is worth any money at all... I personally wouldn't buy it. As it doesn't remotely live up to the reviews claims that it can perform equal to or better than a 3850. But then again it will [probobly] work with the underpowered psu's oems use and would still be an upgrade over that 6150 so.. in this case it may not be completely terrible.

If, as Snograt says, it has a PCIe graphics slot and the power supply can handle it, it would be a good candidate for a GPU upgrade.
Some versions of the 531 came with an nVidia 8500GT, so it's most likely that it has the required slot and a big enough Power Supply.
Before choosing a video card, make sure that the Power Supply in the 531 is large enough to handle it. ATI recommends a 400watt for the 4670

Would I be better off to get somthing like a 512 for the €40 mark?
And how do I check power supply?

TY

if you open the side of your computer case, the power supply will be the box in the top left corner (most typical location) - there ought to be a big sticker on there that lists the maximum watts that it is rated for.
